How to fix damaged user profiles in Citrix Winframe

First things first, remember to do an rdisk /s before messing with the registry or changing any settings on your system. The Thin Net or any other parties mentioned on this page will not be responsible for any damage you may do to your system from these hints. Be sure and read the MSTerminalServices.org Terms and Conditions so that you fully understand this.

Now this is assuming you have the correct path/filename set up in user manager to the profile directory.

The first thing you need to do is delete the corrupted profile. To do this MAKE SURE THE USER IS NOT LOGGED ON and go to the main folder and click on WinFrame setup (yes WinFrame setup) Under the first drop down file menu there will be a pick that says "delete user profiles" (this does not delete the actual file from the profile directory but deletes the cached copy of the profile) choose the corrupted profile and delete it. Dont go delete happy and delete your admin profile or your settings will be messed up.

Next replace the backup copy of the profile file or create one from a template (.usr or .man)to the profile directory. Open up user profile manager (upedit.exe) and open up the profile file you just copied. Choose the user that you want to use this profile (this is VERY important if you don't do this you will get the profile error message) and then do a file-save as user default. If you want ALL users to to get this profile save it as the system default. If you want just the current user that you are logged in as to just have it save it to current profile.

That is all there is to it
