How To Hide The Usrlogon.Cmd File(Or Any Script File) From Showing Up

First things first this procedure requires messing with the registry. If you do not know what you are doing in the registry don't do it. Always do a full backup and rdisk /s before messing in the registry.

The Runh utility hides any script or batch file from view while it is running.

Here is the procedure to hide the Usrlogon.cmd from coming up.

First obtain the utility from http://thin.net/runh.zip written by Steve Seguis (founder of Script Horizon).

Extract the Runh.exe executable file into your wtsrv/system32 directory.

Next open regedt32 and navigate to hkey_local_machine/Software/Microsoft/Windows NT/Current Version/Winlogon.

Look for the key in the Right pane that says Appsetup.

The first entry will say Usrlogon.Cmd.

All you need do is type in Runh in front of the Usrlogon.Cmd.

So your entry would look something like this:

Appsetup: REG_SZ: Runh Usrlogon.cmd, rmvlinks.exe, cmstart.exe etc. etc.

That is all there is to it!!! Now when users logon they do not see the dos box pop up running usrlogon.cmd. The file is hidden from view!!!

Pretty cool.... I am going to use this on all my scripts.
